As the eldest child of Edward and Dora Burks, with the exception of a few years, I’ve lived most of my life in Asheboro and Randolph County.
When I married “The Beautiful Andra” Burgess nearly 30 years ago, we knew that Asheboro was the perfect place for us. With a Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Carolina University and a Master of Education Degree from UNC-Greensboro, I’ve worked most of my adult life in media, initially as on-air and voice talent transitioning into advertising sales and management.
In 2003 I formed The Burks Agency, LLC focused on advertising plans targeted at helping small businesses grow through strategic marketing plans. My faith has always played an important role in my decision processes and has guided me to lead a meaningful life of serving others.
When possible, I can be found fishing anywhere from mountain streams to the coast.
